Nokia Drop is a simple and easy way to push content and notifications to your device from public websites*. Nokia Drop uses Push Notifications, so no cable or Bluetooth connection is needed. With Nokia Drop you can:
- Change your phone's wallpaper*
- Send image to your phone*
- Send public URL to your phone browser* (ie. Nokia Browser or Opera Mobile)
- Send map view from maps.nokia.com to Maps mobile client
- Send feeds to Nokia Reader or to native browser web feed*
- Install apps, wallpapers, themes, ringtones from Ovi Store without SMS**
- New: Belle client; more automatic, no history list, integration to status panel, first-time-use help flow, Store&Forward, automatic update
- New: Anna +S1: silent installation, first-time-use help flow, store&forward, automatic update
*Transfering pictures and URLs from private (intranet) or password-protected websites is NOT supported. Wallpapers and images are sent as links and will be downloaded via the Nokia Drop application, so they must be in the public domain.
**We are using Nokia Account to identify the user in the Web extension and in the device application end. So please remember to sign in with same account information in both ends.
Store&Forward:
We are utilizing push notification server feature Store&Forward. This feature gives you an opportynity to send items to your device without that your client in the device is online. You will receive those after you choose to go online. There are some restrictions: there are limited amount items which can be stored and limited time when you can have those delivered to your client which is online. This features is also working with Nokia Store.
Belle version of the client:
Belle client version is more integrated to the device. We are utilizing more status panel and pop-ups. We are more automatic in Belle, so we have removed manual mode and we don´t have recent download -list anymore. But if you want, you can use Anna version also in Belle > then you have recent download -list and manual mode in use.
Automatic update:
We have added automatic update feature that you will get latest update of our client. Whenever there is newer version released, we will send you an "update drop" message (to recent download -list in Anna + S1 and to status panel in Belle). This item is available in manual mode despite do you have automatic mode selected or not. So you can choose by yourself when you want to download the updated client.
Supported devices
Nokia Drop is compatible with S60 5th Edition and Symbian^3 devices. Nokia Drop has been tested to work with X6-00, 5228, 5230, 5235 Ovi Music Unlimited, C6-00, N97, N97 mini, N8-00, C6-01, C7-00, E7-00, 5233, c5-03, 5800 (PR4+), 700, 500 and 702T Download the application.
Supported PC browsers
Nokia Drop extensions are compatible with Firefox 3.6 and latest and Chrome (latest stable). Download the browser extension.
Nokia Drop is a Beta service
Nokia Drop is under development and service breaks may occur. Nokia Drop is a beta application to verify push notifications functionality on Symbian.
Installation notes
- You need to install browser extension and mobile client to use this service.
- You don´t need to uninstall anything from device before updating the Nokia Drop application.
- Make sure you have active data connection or you are in reach of WLANcoverage during the installation process. Installation uses Symbian Smart Installer, which will download and install required components if needed. Additional download may be required based on your phone configuration.
- To install browser add-on just visit this page with Chrome or Firefox and click on installation button below.
- In Firefox 3.6 service icon may not appear automatically after installation. You can add it by customizing toolbar and drag&drop Nokia Drop icon to the toolbar.

Depending on your phone configuration some components will need to be downloaded during installation.
